"The Jackie Story" was created, written, and narrated by Milton Herbert. The story centers around Jackie Anderson, an orphan, and a cast of characters like
Skeeter, Maggie, and Ritzy. Once students returned from lunch, Mr. Herbert would spend 15 minutes telling the day's section of "The Jackie Story".
Below are links to files that contain "The Jackie Story" from original audio tapes that were recorded in Mr. Herbert's classroom. There are 72 chapters of "The Jackie Story" and most of the chapters are 30 minutes long.
The storyteller page is grouped by chapters, with chapters group by ten's. Mozilla Firefox is the preferred browser, but other browser
should work fine to open or save any of the files listed. Just click on the
"Jackie Icon" on the file you want to open or download and follow your browser instructions. To save the file(s) to your local drive use the "Save As"
command usually under the file menu on the application that open the file and save the file your hard drive. Another method is to "right click" on the
"Jackie Icon" and navigate to "Save Target As" and save the file to your local hard drive. You can then open the file on your computer. All files are MP3 format. Happy Listening!
